April 2009 Archives

My favorite Irishman and generally awesome dude Arveene will be giving my Miami mix a spin on his Spin 103.8 Dublin radio show Transmit this Saturday night.  You can listen in live from 7:45 to 9:45 GMT (3:45pm to 5:45pm Eastern).  You can also pick that mix up right here.

If you haven't checked in with Arveene lately, make sure to visit his Myspace and buy a few of his epic remixes with Misk for Mr. Oizo, Midfield General, or The Glass.  Although, I'm currently digging his original with Timmy Stewart "Like No Other."

Yesterday's Air Force One hysteria reminded me of this photo I caught a few weeks ago.  I think this was right after an afternoon thunderstorm and JFK was routing some heavies really low along the East River.  Yes, I'm an airline geek.

Was in DC this weekend for a wedding.

dc0.jpgTrying to stay cool this week and checked out a few cool NYC docs yesterday at Tribeca Film Festival.  Celine Danhier's Blank City was my favorite so far.

We had a crazy happy birthday dance party for Robot Blair on Friday night at Trophy Bar.  A live recording from the night is coming down the pipe soon.  People Don't Dance No More is back at Trophy on May 15th.

Swung by the New Museum for some cocktails.  I haven't spent much time with the Younger Than Jesus show yet, but I do like these Josh Smith panels:

A new video from our friends over at Kitsune previewing both their Fall Winter Men's and Women's collection and a sampling of music from the forthcoming Maison 7 compilation. (A little trivia: this video was produced by Loïc Prigent, he of the documentary Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton).

Yeah.  Miami was fun.  Lots of outdoor techno.  Here's a little mix that was inspired by the week.  It bangs a little, so put it on before you head out to the club.  It includes the massive massive new Cadenza track by Michel Cleis "La Mezcla." Tracklisting is down below...let me know your thoughts, I just slammed this together pretty quickly.
