DFA Mania | Tuesday 205 | Wednesday Santos

jandjmain.jpg

Justin Miller and Jacques Renault reunite tonight after Jacques' recent European jaunt at 205 Tuesdays.

If you haven't picked up on it yet, make sure to go over to FACT Magazine's exclusive J&J DFA Mix page. The boys cut a mix chock full of exclusive tunes from DFA including Gavin Russom's Black Meteoric Star project and a Plastique du Reve cut from DFAbroad and a few edits of their own. Slamming.

Also, a quick interview reveals a little of whats in the DFA pipeline such as a DFARONG collaboration, new singles from Juan Maclean, Holy Ghost!, Runaway, and LCD Soundsystem.

Most of which will be getting a rinsing tonight at 205 and at the Special Disco Version party on Wednesday at Santos.

DFA will also be holding down a few Saturday afternoons at PS1's Warm Up party. The full line up for that is here at Brooklyn Vegan.

Thee Wurst Boat Party Pics | Trophy Bar Friday

wurst.jpgHuge thank you to everyone who got on the groove cruise last Thursday. Big thanks again to the Wurst Edits crew of My Cousin Roy + Lee Douglas for rocking the big jams until they kicked us off the boat. One more thank you to our sponsor Tretorn for buying us all our first beers of the night!

Our sincere apologies to those of you who came down to the docks without tickets and weren't able to get on board. We sold as many tickets on the dock as the boat crew would allow (even a little more). Stay tuned for a few more People Don't Dance No More boat parties coming up in August (and make sure to buy advance tickets). (If you came to the dock and didn't get on the boat, email us and let us know)

Check out more photos here and at Blair's Flickr

We would love to collect as many photos from the party as possible, so leave links in the comments, or send us a message on Myspace or Facebook.

____________

More People Don't Dance No More disco action this Friday night back at Trophy Bar in Brooklyn! Check out the podcast of our mix from the party in June and check out the Trophy Bar blog.

Sunday Best with Kevin Saunderson | Sunday July 13

kevinSaundersonMain.jpgThe housiest of the Belleville Three drops into New York this weekend for a super rare outdoor sunshine set at our friends Eamon and Justin's Sunday Best outing at the Yard.

Kevin Saunderson was one of the first DJs I ever saw play records and I remember vividly how much fun he was having behind the decks.

The boys at Sundays Best have given us 2 tickets to give away to one of you guys. Email us at slapyouinpublic (at) gmail.com and we'll randomly select someone on Friday and let you know! Congrats Borko & Lisa!

The rest of KMS' very international summer tour dates are below.

The rest of the Sunday Best lineup is here.

Nicky Siano on Beats in Space | Every Sunday Night at Santos!

gallery.jpgHe goes back...all the way back.

Nicky Siano: DJ, founder of the famed Gallery disco club (in 1972!), and lengendary dance music producer visited Tim Sweeney this Tuesday on Beats in Space.

Nicky has started up a new residency at Santos on Sunday nights and I've heard from more than a few people that the vibe is spectacular....I've yet to check it out, but I plan to soon. Let us know what you think if you've been.

Be sure to check out the great interview with Nicky at the beginning of the show. Not only is it interesting to hear from one of the originators of disco, but its really uplifting to hear from someone who is doing what he loves and is so passionate about music. Its really all about the music and I'm glad Nicky's back regularly in NYC.

Pop over to Nicky's site and watch the trailer for the Gallery documentary that he chats with Tim about...

The Wurst BBQ | Sunday July 27 at the Yard | Sunday Best

Part 2 of the Wurst Summer Ever takes place this Sunday at the Yard. If you missed the Wurst Boat Party, don't miss this. All of the Wurst weiners will be rocking the disco (My Cousin Roy, Runaway, and Lee Douglas) and sausages will be sizzling on the grill.

Sunday July 27

SUNDAY BEST PRESENTS THE WURST BBQ
WITH
MY COUSIN ROY, LEE DOUGLAS, RUNAWAY
& SUNDAY BEST RESIDENTS JUSTIN CARTER, EAMON HARKIN & DOUG SINGER

Gussie up to get down. It's an easy-going, late afternoon, barbecue come dance party. Sunday Best! is once again taking over The Yard, a leafy waterside lot on the Gowanus Canal for a nice, mid-afternoon barbecue. It's no ordinary weenie roast, though. The food's fresh and authentic, with quesadillas and tacos made on homemade tortillas--and today, Wurst is serving up some sausages alongside sets from Runaway, Lee Douglas, and My Cousin Roy, the artists that make tracks for The Wurst Edits label. To boot, resident DJs Justin Carter, Eamon Harkin and Doug Singer are playing as well. Too many DJs? We'll see about that.
Doors 3pm Tickets: $8 All Ages rsvp@sundaybestnyc.com
