I've been listening to Nottingham's Friendly Fires quite a bit recently and just got turned on to the record label behind them called PEOPLE IN THE SKY. The label is helmed by the guy who started Hooj Choons, but its more progressive rock than progressive house...
Among the Friendly Fires releases, People in the Sky is putting out an EP by Wax Stag called "Short Road". The title track from that EP was featured on the Hot Chip DJ Kicks and is a sublime piece of retro-futuristic bliss.
Friendly Fires have an EP coming out on Moshi Moshi in December and will be at Iceland Airwaves in October and some continental dates in November. Keep an eye on their space for details on a remix disc coming out soon with Nightmoves and Mock & Toof refixes!
