New Cut Copy | Hearts on Fire

Holy Summers Eve.

This is the jam of your endless summer.

Cut Copy - Hearts on Fire (over at Cutspace)

The boys are working on their new album with Tim Goldsworthy and if Hearts on Fire is any indication, we are going to be listening to Cut Copy on the beach all summer.

AJAX | Dance 'til Dawn Mix

Our buddy, DJ AJAX, from the Bang Gang crew down in Sydney has put together a really awesome mix. I'm going to give you more on Ajax later, but I want to get you listening to this ASAP.

He's pulled apart every song that you've been listening to for the past few weeks, diced them into pieces, re-edited them, added in shit you ain't never heard, and pulled it back into a banging hour long set.

This is true class. Take notes.

Tv on the Internet | VICE TV

I'm getting into TV/Video on the interweb. The quality is getting better and the content is getting increasingly exclusive and edgy.

E.g., homeboys at Vice got into the game as of a few days ago.

VBS.TV

If you've seen the VICE GUIDE TO TRAVEL, which I highly recommend, you have an idea of what these cats can cook up. While highlighting the realness in real life is their specialty, VBS will also include music features and some generally just fucked up shit. The site says Spike Jonze is the creative director of VBS.TV. I doubt they are name checking. Get live.

If you need more TV on the Internet, check out this Australian site:

Pedestrian.TV

There is a cool spot on Ajax and the Bang Gang on Issue 8.

(Anyone with tips on how to watch videos at the office without getting caught, holla at me.)

Dan Le Sac Vs Pip | Thou Shalt Always Kill

Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip - Thou Shalt Always Kill (at Myspace)

"Thou Shalt Not Read NME"

These guys come off sounding a little like a British LCD Soundsystem. Not nearly as sarcastic though.

Try not to laugh at this track...added bonus: the beat kills.

Klaxons Mix | Get Out

Over at the BBC Radio 1, Annie Nightingale has a mix up from the Klaxons. I haven't listened yet, but I don't recognize a single track on the list. It's only live until Monday. Get listening (someone rip it for me and I'll post it).

SWITCH KILLED LAST NIGHT. That is all that needs to be said about that. I'll put up pictures tonight.

I posted up my Week in Dance over at Brooklyn Vegan, Lindstrom is the big news this weekend. Also, good rave-ups tonight at Ruff Club and at Rewind with the War + Moon boyees.

Muscles Makes Trance Cool

I've been patiently observing Muscles since the Fluo's tipped me off to ANOTHER Australian music innovator.

This Architecture In Helsinki remix really put me over the edge. I haven't heard a trance breakdown like this in years! TOOON!

Architecture in Helsinki - Nevereverdid (Muscles Theme Park Lemonade Dub) (Via Mr. P)

Check out Big Stereo and Kiss Atlanta for some original tracks, my favorite is "Ice Cream."

Head over to Mr. P for an MP3 of Cut Copy's new jam too.

Big Ones | Carl Craig

I'm working on getting a new Dark Days, Bright Nights Podcast out soon.

I mixed a first draft on Saturday and opened it with this new Carl Craig remix of Faze Action. Its a massive first track.

I was a little dubious about keeping it out front, but after hearing JDH drop it as the first track after Lindstrom's set later that night at FIXED, I'm thinking I'll keep it there. The kids won't techno for an answer...

Faze Action - In The Trees (Carl Craig Remix) (Yousend it)

Whats rocking the shit out of your discoteca?

Post your city and the name of the track in the comments.

Joakim Live Video | More at Spinner

AOL's Spinner music site usually has some pretty sweet treats on the indie tip, but this weeks 3x3 video section has some good dance jams.

Top pick is the Joakim live sample from the La Cigale Festival in Paris. He plays with a full band and its totally beardo fantastic.

I didn't have a ticket before I walked in the door...(That is to say, I bought a ticket at the door)

The setlist is above and as far as I know there was no outside or downstairs business after the show.

It was pretty freakin cool.

New New New New Young Pony Club | 1 Yearz

If you read the internet, this track is all over the place. If you don't, this shit is hot!

You know I love New Young Pony Club and you know I love the Teenagers, throw in the fact that I'm a Modular fanboy and you've got a nice little birthday present for us. Even if it wasn't directed at us, I'll take it as such.

Slap You in Public is 1 year old!

Hard to believe its been a year already: I can barely walk, I sure can't write, and I definitely don't look like I did then. Our true birthday was the 15th, but I was celebrating elsewhere. Sorry.

Huge thanks to everyone who has made this piece possible, particularly the dudes who set up the original Slap You in Public, gave it a name, and gave it a home. Also big thanks to the designers behind this current SYIP 2.1, everyone who reads (or pageloads) here, everyone who comes to (and dances at) our parties, and most importantly to the musicians who are pushing music forward and making us kids dance.

Stay tuned for more parties (3 times a month), more tee shirts (1 coming up), more interviews, more pictures, more music, and more dancing. Now dance to this:

To My Boy | Audioporno Remix

Liverpool's To My Boy popped up on the radar about the same time as the Klaxons mainly due to their super crazy rave remix of "Gravity's Rainbow." (You can find it over at Palms Out Sounds)

Their original work holds on to a bit of the rave, but adds in some really, really poppy (& British) lyrics. Kind of like Morrissey tripped over a 303 and wanted to sing about how it made him feel.

I'm diggin it. If you are in London, To My Boy will be at Erol's DURRR night at the End on March 12th.

The Swiss production team AUDIOPORNO has given To My Boy a porn refit and it's pretty sexy. Get bent.

All MP3s after the jump.

Passions | The Future Sucks

I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but Passions is putting out some of his work on motherfuckin' KITSUNE. If you haven't heard his "Emergency" jam, then you haven't been living life to its fullest.

Listen over at Passionspace.

To big up his new home on Kitsune, Passions dropped some heat for a promo mix.

Passions - Kitsune Promo Mix (Tracklisting after the jump)

As he does, Passions mixes up super future shit with some classic anthems.

Pick up his remix of Adam Kesher over at the new Trouble & Bass MP3 shop. Totally worth the $2 for a high quality file ready for your Serato.

Trouble & Bass 7 happens this Saturday at Boogaloo. The full crew will be in effect.

Speaking of T&B, check out Vivan on the new XLR8R TV. Mad fresh.
