Party! | New Dark Days, Bright Nights Mix

Two days until Walter Meego come to town, three days until we rock out on the Frying Pan.

Blair just gave us a nice plug over at MFR! He'll be the captain of your musical journey on Saturday.

Buy tickets now to save time at the door.

To get you jazzed, I mixed a short little jammy jam on Saturday. If you've subscribed to the Podcast, you have it in your ITunes. If not, you can download it here.

Its a taste of what I'll be playing on Saturday night...French indie-disco-rock. Speaking of...France is up 1 - 0 right now as I write this...Go France. Watch it LIVE (while at work).

Tomorrow night, Broken Social Scene plays Prospect Park. I went to TV on the Radio on Friday night. First time seeing a show at Prospect Park...Definitely my favorite outdoor venue. Should be a fun time tomorrow night!

THANK YOU!! | New Young Pony Club

I'd like to thank everyone who came out to the first big Slap You blowout on Saturday night...I think everyone had a great time.

The boys of Walter Meego had fun, even though Justin had to sleep on my floor. His back is probably aligned quite nicely now...They'll be back August 11th for their LIVE debut at Pianos.

Mr. Blair had fun. He was a true champ. I think he singlehandedly rewired the sound in the 2nd floor and endured sauna level temperatures. He posted his set over at MFR. HUGE thanks to a great DJ and nice dude! Hopefully he can join us for #2...

Pictures, recaps, and rumors overheard at the party to follow.

Details on Blowout #2 in a matter of days.

NEW YOUNG PONY CLUB

I would have played every single New Young Pony Club track on Saturday night if my f'ing CD player would have worked...

These cats are hot. I'm a bit behind the blogosphere on these guys, but I want my trusty readers to get a slice of the Pony while its hot. They are from London. I want them to come to New York, don't you too? The Get Go is smokin' hot. Sorry about the quality, just crank the volume up!!

Hot as Funk | Para One (Bastille Day Nuggets)

Its really hot out. While I can't endorse going outside at all this weekend, there are some cool things going on.

Tomorrow at PS1 Todd Terje spaces it out for the ravers. If you want to really dehydrate yourself, go stand outside all day with 10,000 other hipsters at the Village Voice Siren Festival. I think I'll opt for dancing around in my underwear in the Air Conditioning to PARA ONE.

Para One is brilliant. You know I'm obsessed with the French label Kitsune, but this Parisian nugget just takes it to a new level. This dude is totally from the future, he knows things that we don't know. If the future is this sleazy, we are in good shape. Listen to Dudun Dun, its aptly named. Tell me it doesn't give you goosebumps. My homies MSTRKRFT pull some nasty shit and its just as good as the original.

Check out Blair's original post for more info...I'm planning on moving to Paris, who's coming with me?

VAN SHE!

Van She are from Australia, just like Cut Copy, the Presets, and Wolfmother. They are also on Modular Records, just like Cut Copy, the Presets, and Wolfmother.

Modular is rapidly becoming my number 1 stunna.

I heard Van She's track "Kelly" on Chris Coco's Blue Room show last Sunday, which if you haven't had a listen: do it. I think its the best radio programme (nod to the Brits) in the world.

I'll save the commentary for other blogs. They rock in a sick Neo-New Order meets Air kinda way. Good music for Transcontinental flights and dark corners of Tokyo.

Kelly is a fantastic song. Try and find their EP in a shop near you, its worth the import price.

To give you some skills checks, I'm including their remix of the Klaxons' "Gravity's Rainbow". Lifechanging.

Van She - Kelly (Alan Braxe & Fred Falke Remix)

I'm going away for my birthday, so to keep you happy I'm going to let you in on a secret of mine: Fluo Kids from Paris. Keep it quiet.

Go see Os Mutantes on Friday at Webster Hall!

Perverse on Purpose | Weekend Plans

I'm between trips right now, so the plan is to make the most of NYC while I'm here. This weekend is like Spring of 2005 all over again. Read on:

Tonight (Thursday)
My amigo Mr. Blair of Music.for-robots.com DJs at the Creature party at Saphire. 11 - 12 Free Sparks!

After you get juiced up...

His holiness James Murphy (If I need to explain, stop reading) DJs at Hiro. I suggest advance tickets or at least an email to get on the reduced list.

Friday
Editors play Irving Plaza. Looks like lots of tickets available on the ol' Craigs.

Tim Sweeney's NightTime party is back at Don Hill's with a live set from the Long Blondes from the UK! Here's one of their tracks:

The Long Blondes - Fullwood Bablyon

Produced by Master Erol Alkan. Go to TheirSpace for more jams. I dig "Lust in the Movies".

Saturday
I haven't been yet this summer, but PS1's Warm Up parties are the best parties in NYC. It's a sick line-up on Saturday and worth the trip to Queens: the Juan Maclean, Jeffrey Sfire, Adam X, and the Rogers Sisters. Buy tickets to avoid the hassle.

Hussle down to Williamsburg for 2005's starchildren Bloc Party at McCarran Pool. Looks like there are some tickets available to this as well...They've yet to disappoint me live.

Sunday
If you aren't dead and want to go back to McCarran, the JellyNYC Pool Parties continue with a pretty nasty line up. Go here for details.

2 new Podcasts coming up. Stay tuned.

Peter, Bjorn, & John | Young Folks

I've been busy with the weekend's activities and working on my new podcast. I hope to have it up tomorrow morning...Its a really good one. To keep you happy today, check this out:

More Swedish sexiness!

Peter, Bjorn, & John - Young Folks

Another gem I heard on the Blue Room. These guys are from Sweden and put out an album called Writer's Block. I've only heard three tracks from the album, so I can't comment on its entirety. This track is supremely awesome! It features Victoria Bergsman of the Concretes on vocals and is sexy and funky and fun. Check it.
